Day 1
Monday - O my
people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to
him, for God is our refuge. -
Psalms 62:8 NLT
Reflect: Why
is trusting God difficult? Sure it’s easy when life
is
sailing smoothly, but what about when things go
badly? How
do we react
under pressure? Trusting God involves
giving him our
disappointments, fears, and hurts. “Trust in Him at
all
times.”
Pray;
Father, show me how I’m not trusting you. Help me
replace worry and complaining with trust.
Day 2
Tuesday - Jesus
looked at them intently and said,
“Humanly
speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is
possible.” - Matthew
16:26 NLT
Reflect:
From
a human perspective, at times things may seem impossible. But with God
all things are possible. Some might say there is no way we can
build a church: not enough members, money, or infrastructure.
But
is anything too tough for the God of the universe?
Pray:
Father, I praise you because you are the God of the
impossible. Give us faith as we seek to build.
Day
3
Wednesday
- But those who trust in the L
ord
will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like
eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will
walk and
not faint. -
Isaiah
41:31 NLT
Reflect:
Who likes to wait for anything? We live in
an instant
gratification society. It’s difficult
for most of us
to wait at a light or a grocery line. God tells us
to slow
down and trust him.
Pray:
Father, help me to slow down
and take time to read your word, pray, and listen.
Show me
the things you would have me do.
Day 4
Thursday
- He called you to salvation when we told you the Good News;
now you can share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. -
2 Thessalonians 2:14 NLT
Reflect: God
has not only saved us, but he calls us to invest in others.
Start
by building a friendship with someone living far from
God.
They will naturally wonder why you care. Later you
can talk
about what God has done in your life.
Pray:
Father, show me the person you would like me to invest in
today so they might know you.
Day 5
Friday
- Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise.
In fact,
his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. He was
fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises. -
Romans 4:20-21 NLT
Reflect:
Verses like this cause us to think we will never
have that
kind of faith. But Abraham struggled with the same sins and
failures we
experience. Still he trusted God. His faith
was strengthened by the hardships he faced.
Pray:
Father,
help me not to resist the hardships that enter my
life. Help
my faith to grow through each difficulty I face.
