Doug Mathers

Lead Pastor

What do I do? I dream-lead-teach.
Why do it? I love seeing emptiness being filled. Without God, we always end up feeling and living in the void. We are made to be filled by God and deep relationships with each other.
How did I get here? U of Minnesota, I worked with struggling teens, Bethel Seminary. I started Crosswinds with others in order help people discover Jesus (His love and His leadership).
Things to know about me? I love many of the classic Minnesota prototypical guy stuff: being ‘up north’, wearing a hoodie in the morning, shorts in the day and a warm hoodie in the evening. I enjoy golf but will never be good. I fish, but not for the whole day. I enjoy sharing all sunsets and life with others. But also need to be antisocial periodically.
How to connect with me? Find something I like and do it with me. Find something you like and invite me to join or watch. Feeding me often helps.

Doug Weincouff

Family Ministries Pastor

How'd I get here?  Glenbrook North HS in Northbrook, Illinois - a suburb just north of Chicago, then Bethel College (BA Business) and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (Masters of Divinity).
Things to know about me? I love golf, soccer, and work in my yard. My favorite comfort food is tomato soup.

Eric Spickelmier

Pastor of Students

What do I do? I am privileged to serve as Pastor of Student Ministries at Crosswinds!
Why do I do it?  I believe Jesus is the real deal – and I believe that, if He is, that should completely alter how we think, act, and feel! My hope is to help young people discover the goodness of God and encourage them into following Jesus - as a disciple would - for their full lives! (Oh, and I’d also like to have some fun along the way!)
How'd I get here? I was a music major at Bethel University – also did some Seminary there. After years of running coffee shops and then working in the financial industry I switched into professional ministry and was pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Madison, MN for 11+ years prior to taking this role at Crosswinds.
Things to know about me? What a blessing my family is! My artistic and vibrant wife Anna is my “better half” and my two awesome kids, Miah and Gretta, always have me smiling! I’m a big MN Twins fan – and Minnesota sports fan in general. I enjoy fishing, playing Settlers of Cataan, and listening to Switchfoot.
How to connect with me? Text, call, email, yell loudly!

Ben Mulholland

Director of Arts & Worship

What do I do?  I help create spaces where people can encounter God through worship, music, creativity, and technology. That includes leading worship, working with our musicians and tech teams, helping shape our services, and supporting the creative pieces that help people connect with God's message.
Why do I do it?  I do this because I want to use my gifts, abilities, and talents to praise and worship God with all that I have. I believe worship is a powerful way to help people move from attending services to truly engaging with God. Whether through song, prayer, a moment of silence, or a creative element in the service, I want people to feel invited, included, and pointed toward Jesus.
How'd I get here?  Years of work in creative services, television media and production, music, and communication. Before coming to Crosswinds, I worked in media and marketing, where I learned a lot about storytelling, production, leadership, and technology. I have also been involved in worship ministry for many years as a musician and worship leader.
I came to Crosswinds over 20 years ago because the band needed a substitute bass player. I continued coming to Crosswinds because, at the time, I was included, embraced for who I was, not ignored when I didn't hit the standards of a "good Christian". And now I work here because I want to continue Crosswinds mission and help people grow in their faith.
Things to know about me?  My wife, Hannah, and I have four kids, and family is a huge part of my life. Outside of church, I love music, recording, creative projects, working on projects around the house, and spending time with my family. I'm also a nerd with plenty of video games, board games, and tech to keep my friends and I entertained for days.
Fun fact: Growing up in a music family, I'm currently proud to be in a church band with my mom and my son!
How to connect with me? Say hi on a Sunday, but feel free to reach out through text/email. I would love to talk with anyone interested in worship, music, media, production, or getting involved on one of our creative teams. I'm always happy to hear your song suggestions as well.
